Bonus Post -- The Winter Moon
I took this picture this evening, and wrote the (love) poem for the winter solstice
The Winter Moon
Illuminating each suspended
pendulum droplet like a prism,
this icy night’s solstice moon imbues
the descended firmament of fog
with a curtain of crystalline sheen
that satiates our curtainless room
with refracted luminosity,
distributing a moonbeam’s comfort
across our alabaster comforter,
at least as so far as the luster
illumines your face, reminding me,
Love, that in the relative darkness,
even on this our year’s longest night,
such enchanting light can break the gloom.
Gorgeous sonnet, Andy, leading, so satisfying, to that last couplet... which I'll carry with me into the new year!
